Three Books That Inspired Me in 2025

In 2025 many of the books which inspired me were ones I discovered through listening to podcasts. I don’t know if you’ve found such books useful too?

I want to highlight three books that particularly inspired me.

It is perhaps fitting that the book I read at the turn of the year whose principles I want to take forward into my new chapter was Mel Robbins Let Them Theory. Indeed it has been the Mel Robbins podcast much of my inspiration has come from this year.

The key I am taking forward from this book is the second part of the theory, which is Let Me.

For anybody who has not come across it the core aim of the book is to encourage people to have agency and not be held back or have their minds filled by the actions of others.

One that I think I might have first read, (actually listened to), in 2024 but I certainly read again this year was The Five Resets by Dr. Aditi Nerurkar. It is a really sensible science based book about how to make positive choices in life that stick. It also makes you stop and reflect on life; thinking about what you want your next chapter to look like.

The Third book, which is one I am actively working with as I move forward towards the move and into the next chapter is Design Your Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans. It gives you a framework to ask yourself some hard questions, but also examine your desires. It then encourages you to try different methods of design prototype to build the life that works best for you.

I hope these might act as useful signposts to you. As anybody who knows me will be able to testify to,I could have given a much longer list. However if you are on the way to reframing life through choice or necessity these are the three I read this year I’d most recommend.
